Dorothy Moxley Obituary | Has Died: Dorothy Gwenneth Moxley, 92, our zesty, esteeming mother, passed on at Backus Hospital on August 29, 2018, after a short illness. Dorothy leaves behind her daughter Lee (Cornell McNair) of Griswold, youngster Ian of Preston, grandchildren, Katherine (Chris Patnaude) and Harrison (Kristy Miller), fantastic grandson James, and different nieces and nephews. Dorothy was brought into the world in Kingston, Ontario, Canada to Harry and Gladys (Hunter) Wright. Dorothy was predeceased by her soul mate Don and her kin, Harold and Ken.

A splendid understudy, Dorothy went to Kingston Collegiate Vocational Institute. While still in school, Dorothy was drawn closer to work at the Royal Bank of Canada and worked there becoming Head Teller. She gave to fill in as a bookkeeper at L.J. Diamond, and a while later as a head bookkeeper at a singular spending plan association.

Around 1951, Dot joined the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Reserve where she learned semaphore and Morse code.

Wear and Dot was hitched in 1954 at Cooke’s United Church in Kingston. In the wake of the wedding, the couple lived in Hartford, CT where Dot worked at American Electric Supply as an assistant.

Spot and Don later moved to Noank, CT, and raised their family there. The spot was a working person from Noank Baptist Church and was in the Noank Women’s Bowling League. Most summers would notice the family camping out in New York or Canada and one significant summer camping out the country over and into Canada. In 1975 the family moved to Preston, CT. Spot got a kick out of checking out enormous quantities of the Preston City Congregational Church practices and was the agent of the Deacon’s Fund for a serious long time. Spot loved truly zeroing in on her grandchildren after school and telling them the best way to play poker.

The family should thank the staff of Backus Hospital and Hartford Healthcare Hospice Services for their incredible thought of Dorothy and back to our family during this time.
